I am the Instructional Designer for Innovation at the Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Davidson College. In this role, I work with experts in a variety of disciplines to build workshops and online courses. My primary focus is designing asynchronous, four-week courses for DavidsonX. I've led the development of eight courses in a variety of disciplines, from storytelling to R Shiny, and consulted on several more. In our technical courses especially I work to integrate Davidson's values of honesty, integrity, and inclusion.
I graduated from Davidson in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in biology. I discovered late in my college career that I have a passion for open and accessible education and so after graduation joined the Digital Learning department in the college library. There, I worked with campus faculty and staff to incorporate digital tools into their classrooms and ran workshops on podcasting, graphic design, web design, and web accessibility for both classes and extracurricular groups. I also designed a badging and certification system for facilitators at the Deliberative Citizenship Initiative, a group that convenes discussions on political and social topics amongst individuals of diverse backgrounds.
In my free time, I enjoy playing tabletop games, crafting, growing herbs and vegetables, and teaching my cat Merlin to do tricks.
