This slideshow is a day in the life of my favorite stuffed animal, Mush the Forest Fairy. We follow him through his morning spent communing with nature on the porch, his afternoon playing various games and meeting with some friends, and his evening making dinner and going out to party (literally in his cups) before picking a book to bring to bed. Mush likes to be silly and fun, which is what I wanted this video to be. It was the only way I felt I could effectively use some of the sillier transitions in Adobe Premiere Pro, and I wanted to challenge myself to use transitions I'd never tried before. There are still a few I couldn't bear to incorporate--namely Cube Flip and Iris Cross--but putting in Page Turn and Iris Circle effectively was quite a success.
Because I've edited videos in Adobe Premiere Pro before, my primary challenge to myself (besides incorporating silly transitions) was to incorporate handmade animations and edit sound. I intentionally chose a song that was longer than a minute so that I could cut it up and paste it back together to perfectly hit one minute. The skipped beats in the song made it easier to line up the transitions between the different sections of the song, so I could align the spikes of the drum and overlap repeating sections. For the animations, I drew the title and end slides and played with different alternation timings to see which was most effective. I also had not ever included text made via Premiere (oddly enough), so I put my name on the title slide using Premiere's built-in tool. Overall, I think I pushed myself to acquire a couple new skills and create something more fun than my usual tutorials.
