Each course that I build for DavidsonX needs a title card that learners will see at the top of the page when they first click on the course. We created the "Just Be Yourself" course earlier this year, and for this project I created an alternate title card that could be used in marketing or on the course page. I chose the font Proxima Nova for the title because it is bold, simple, and stands out in comparison to Didot, a modern font with dramatic changes in downstroke and width. I chose Didot because of it's similarity to common playbill fonts. The course is taught by an actor and workplace culture consultant, Steve Kaliski, and includes a number of Davidson locals and students, all of whom have backgrounds in some form of performance. Rather than include graphics or stock photography, I decided to use screenshots from the course to highlight the people who participated. I chose the bright light blue for the background because after trying a few colors, it paired well with the reds of the bricks, and the bright blue ball in the bottom right picture draws the eye across to the logo. I chose the small logo for this because it's meant to be an image. The caption or summary that would pair with the title card would have the full name of the producer.
Disclaimer: I did not produce this course by myself. It is a product of DavidsonX at Davidson College. I have permission to use the title and images for this project but do not claim sole credit for it.
